10 Players who could represent Nigeria

There have been players who were born outside Nigeria and still chose to represent Nigeria. Many played for their country of birth at youth levels before switching allegiance and some decided from the onset. Here are some players who could represent Nigeria (possibly in the future).

Chuba Akpom

Chuba Amaechi Akpom was born in Canning Town, London United. Chuba as he’s fondly called currently plays as striker for championship side Middlebrough. He has represented England at youth and U-21 levels but he is still eligible to play for Nigeria

Dominc Solanke

Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell was born in Basingstoke United kingdom to a Nigeran father and British Mother.Dominic Solanke was part of the England U-20 world cup winning squad, in which he won the golden ball award.Dominic Solanke is still eligible to play for Nigeria since he’s only made an appearance in a friendly game for the England senior team.

Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Oluchi Eze  was born in Greenwich London to Nigerian Parents.He started his youth career with arsenal before his senor career with queens park rangers He has made 15 appearances for England at the youth level but he’s yet to make any cap for the senior team.Eberechi Eze is still eligible to represent the super eagles of Nigeria.

Nathan Tella

Nathan Adewale Temitayo Tella is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Southampton. He is yet to make any cap for the English youth and senior team.

Tosin Adarabioyo

Abdul-Nasir Oluwatosin Oluwadoyinsolami Adarabioyo was born in Manchester to Nigerian immigrant parents.He currently plays as a center back for Fulham football club. Tosin has made at total of 14 caps for the England youth team at different levels. He is yet to make a senior cap for the national side ,which still makes him eligible to represent Nigeria.

Sheyi Ojo

The hampstead born Oluwaseyi Babajide “Sheyi” Ojo joined Liverpool as a 14-year-old and came through their academy.He has represented England at every youth level and he was also a part of the U20 world up winning squad. He’s yet to make an appearance for the senior team.

Felix Agu

Felix Agu plays as a full-back for Werder Bremen in Germany, the same country he was born. Felix is a youth international for Germany, having appeared for the  German U21 side. He is still eligible to play for Nigeria if he wants.

Lucas Nmecha

Like Jamal Musiala, Lucas has represented both England and Germany at youth levels. He was born in Hamburg,Germany before moving to England at a young age.He represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 & U21 youth team before joining the German U21 side. He’s made 20 caps for the German youth side ,scoring 12 goals.He currently plays as winger/forward for VFL Wolfsburg. Lucas would have been included in this list, but he is yet to make an appearance for the senior team.

Karim Adeyemi

Adeyemi was born in Munich, Germany, to a Nigerian father and Romanian mother. He currently plays as a striker for RB Salsburg. He has represented Germany in U16, U17 and U21 levels. He is still eligible to play for Nigeria.

Noah Okafor

Noah was born in Binningen, Switzerland to Nigerian father and swiss mother. He has represented the Switzerland youth team at U15, U17, U18 and U19. He made his senior Switzerland national football team debut on June 2019 and hasn’t made another appearance since then.

Jordon Ibe

Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe was born in Bermondsey, in the London Borough of Southwark. Jordon represented England at the youth U18 – U21 but he never made any appearance for England National team.

Folarin Balogun

Folarin Jerry Balogun was born in New York City , USA to Nigerian parents who later migrated to England when he was 2 years old. Born in the United States to Nigerian parents and raised in England, Balogun is eligible to represent Nigeria, England and USA at international level. He has represented England at the U17,U18 and U20 levels. He also represented USA at U18 and expressed interest in playing for Nigeria.
